What religion do you think is most relevant to this age?

I think that needs context! We were talking about the history of some religions, and if we accept that they are influenced to some degree by the social circumstances of the time at which they are founded, then there should be some religion which is particularly applicable to now. Or some mix of religious ideals.

I'm inclined to think that earth religions appeal to our growing awareness of the damage we're doing to the environment. But I think we also need to renounce material goods. I think also that it's a good idea to encourage independent thought (to counter the media/propaganda onslaught). Dunno. Any ideas?
